This month, we are embarking on an exciting new star party at Lubbock’s First Friday Art Trail! We will set up in the plaza next to the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA) from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, Jan 6th, 2023! (Weather permitting!) We are family friendly and love to share views of the heavens with all ages!
Today (Tuesday), the weather forecast looks reasonable, though possibly chilly with a few clouds. We will have urban lighting, but we have lots of bright objects to observe, including the Venus and Saturn briefly after sunset, plus Jupiter, Mars, and the full Moon. We’ll have deep sky objects like the Pleiades and Hyades clusters, the Double Cluster and more.
Stop by and grab a view of the heavens between stops on the FFAT or stick around the whole evening as we view the various objects!
